MVP CHALLENGE 5K For Andrew Moritz

Marvena Kemp and Adia Barnes (the former WNBA World Champion Seattle Storm player and current University of Washington Women's Basketball assistant coach and the radio color analyst for the Seattle Storm) invite you to join us and our celebrity friends at Green Lake to participate in one of the regions' most unique 5K run/walk fundraisers for Andrew Moritz. Hosted by the Adia Barnes Foundation and the Marvin Thomas Memorial Fund, this new and exciting event will combine running, walking and basketball contests like never before. Come on out, run/walk a scenic flat 5K (3.1 miles), meet celebrities and have a great time raising money for a worthy cause. The free Kids Dash should be a hoot, and there will also be running/dribbling relays for the kids.

Leashed dogs and strollers are allowed.

This year's MVP Challenge 5K will raise funds for Andrew Moritz, the former University of Washington Men's Basketball player and former Seattle Storm practice squad player who has a Desmoplastic Round Cell Tumor (a soft tissue cancer). It is a very rare form of cancer. There are only two hospitals in the U.S. that staff specialists to treat this cancer. Funds raised via the event will support Andrew's medical bills as well as the out of pocket travel expenses Andrew and his family incur. For more details about Andrew, his disease and why you should support this cause, please visit his blog (
