TEAMS
Competing as a team is a fun and engaging way to enjoy the Dawg Dash. You and your friends, co-workers or roommates can run or walk together as a team and compete for great prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the largest team in each category listed below and to the largest team overall. Build camaraderie and compete against other teams or do it just for fun!
Largest Team Challenge Categories:
Largest Corporate Team Largest Community Team Largest UW Department/College/School Team Largest Greek Team (Sororities & Fraternities in same group) Largest Residence Hall Team
Members of any team must
pre-register in advance of the event. Team Competition
tallies will be done prior to the day-of-race and the
largest teams in each of these listed categories will be
recognized on a sign to be placed near the pre-race
registration and packet pickup area as well as next to the
UW Alumni Association booth located within the stadium. The
largest team competition winners will also be announced
during the Post Dash Bash awards ceremony.
All teams with 20 or more
people will also be mentioned at the Post Dash Bash and will
also have the opportunity to have their pictures taken with
Harry the Husky after all of the largest team winners are
announced.
UW
Department/College/School Teams: Team members must be UW
staff, faculty or students from the same recognized
department, college, or school. Family members of UW
Department/College/School team members may participate on
the said team. Greek Teams: Team
members must be active members of a current University of
Washington Greek System sorority or fraternity organization
but not be a combination of the two.
Teams made up of UW sorority or fraternity alumni need to enter the Community Team competition.
Residence Hall Teams: Team members must currently be living in one the University of Washington residence hall that their team represents. Multiple teams from the same residence hall are allowed but forming one team is highly recommended. Teams made up of UW residence hall alumni need to enter the Community Team competition.
3) Team Captain must decide
on how the complete team will register for the event (either
via the paper entry form or via the online registration
page). Team members who register via a different method than
their captain will NOT be counted in the team’s
participation total. If registering online:
Team captain must set up and create a team name on the
teams section of the Dawg Dash online registration page.
After the team captain registers for the event and enters in
the team name, all team members must select that team name
when registering online for the event. If not, they will not
be counted in their team totals.
If registering via the
paper entry forms: All team members must each fill out a
2008 Dawg Dash entry form. Team captains then must collect
all the team’s entry forms and submit the entry forms
together either via mail or in person at one of the
participating Dawg Dash in-store registration locations. |
