Competing as a team is a fun and engaging way to enjoy the Dawg Dash. Compete as either a corporate, campus, or community team.

THERE ARE TWO TEAM CATEGORY COMPETITIONS:

(1) The Fastest Team Dawg Dash Cup Competition for male and female Greek/Dorm organizations.

(2) The Largest Team Competition for all other groups.

Fastest Team Dawg Dash Cup Competition:

The fastest team competition is for Greek/Dorm teams only. For the 4th year in a row, the UW Alumni Association is proud to award the Dawg Dash Cup to the fastest male and female Greek/Dorm teams.

Dawg Dash Cup teams must have a minimum of four people (and no maximum) and all team members must be current members/residents of their respective Greek or Dorm organization. The top four recorded 5K race times of each team will be added together and the teams with the fastest (lowest) combined time wins. Team runners are also timed as individuals in the 5K run and are eligible to receive prizes for their individual efforts.

The Dawg Dash Cup is a perpetual trophy, residing in the residence of the winning team for the duration of the school year. At the end of the school year, the UW Alumni Association will collect the trophy and hold it until the next Dawg Dash. Each winning team will also have their team name put on the Dawg Dash plaque located in the HUB.

Largest Team Competition:

Teams from corporate, campus, or community organizations can compete in this category. Teams must have four or more members from the same organization. The largest team in each of these categories as well as all teams with 20 or more people will be mentioned at the Post Dash Bash celebration and will be given the opportunity to have their picture taken with Harry the Husky. The year of the UW alumni class that has the most members at the Dawg Dash will also be mentioned.

Corporate: Corporate team members must work at or be relatives of employees from the same business.

Campus: Campus team members must be either UW Staff/Faculty or UW Students from the same recognized department, school, or college. A separate largest team contest will happen for both of these groups. Teams in both the male and female Greek/Dorm Fastest Team Dawg Dash Cup Competition will be included in the UW Students Largest Team Competition. Family members of UW Staff/Faculty and UW Students may participate on the said team.

Community: Team members for this category are from the general public or are a combination of any team categories above.

CREATING A TEAM IS EASY TO DO:

1) Recruit a group of friends, co-workers, or colleagues for one of the listed team categories above.

2) Select a Team Captain to coordinate your registration.

3) Have all team members complete a printed 2006 Dawg Dash entry form.

4) Have the team captain collect all team member entry forms and entry fees and submit them together at once via mail or in person at one of our in-store registration locations. Teams may also register online via the Dawg Dash registration link without the need of registering all at once.  

NOTE: All team entry forms & entry fees must be submitted together and be received by October 20th, 2006. No teams or team entries will be accepted on the day of the event.
