John Curley's racing Fremont:

Green Initiatives

We are proud to continue and improve upon the GREEN focused initiatives we have implemented at our event. Some of the activities we have planned this year include:

Asking registrants to REGISTER ONLINE.

Sourcing an ORGANIC COTTON SHIRT as our participant shirt.

Printing our event brochure and posters on RECYCLED PAPER.

Asking that our event participants to WALK, BIKE, CARPOOL OR BUS to the event.

Revising the rules of our briefcase relay event so that participants must CARRY CANS OF FOOD in their briefcases (all food to be donated to Solid Ground at the race end).

Having a secure onsite BICYCLE VALET area managed by Gregg's Cycles.

Sourcing ORGANIC FRUIT for the fruit we give away onsite.

Offering registrants the opportunity to purchase a $2 Clif Bar Cool Tag CO2 offsetting sticker. Purchased stickers will be put in the buyers registration packet.

Having PLASTIC & GLASS RECYCLING bins onsite and  RECYCLING all the paper, cardboard, plastic & glass created via the event.

Having COMPOST BINS onsite thanks to Waste Management

Sourcing the beer for our beer garden from the sustainably focused Fremont Brewing Company. Sourcing the beer garden wine from the Clif Family Winery.

Asking all beer garden attendees to REUSE and recycle their cup.

Giving away relevant USABLE GIFTS as our age category awards (rather than trophies or plaques).

Inviting local green-focused programs like the Seattle Weekly's Green Card to become event sponsors and/or onsite vendors.

If your organization would like to support any of the above initiatives, or if you have any additional ideas on other things we can do, please contact us today. Thank you!
